Samedi 24 juillet, Boladé Apithy (6e mondial) a chuté lors de son premier match du tournoi de sabre individuel. Il a été éliminé dès le premier tour contre l’iranien Mohammad Rahbari (36e), 15 touches à 13. Il était le seul représentant français pour l’épreuve du sabre aux JO.
